Overview

This qualification is intended for students who have no basic skills in English and wish to undergo study to progress to Elementary.

Graduates will have the following English language skills:

  • Student can identify days of the week, months, time.
  • Can respond to basic conversation.
  • Can understand basic grammar of present simple, present continuous, some prepositions and write these in context correctly.

Completion of this certificate will allow students to progress to Elementary.

  • Be more confident in social situations Have an expanded knowledge of NZ culture.
  • Achieve over 70% in end of course summative assessments.

Course Duration

  • 12 weeks
  • Monday to Friday
  • 20 classroom hours per week
  • 5 self-study hours per week

  • Formative - submitting weekly
  • Summative - End of course (week 12)
